How Do You Stay Motivated During NoFap? (With Relapses And Low Mood)

Let’s talk about how to get your fighting spirit back when you are going through periods of low motivation.
And as this is something that happens many times during a NoFap journey, you might want to bookmark this video and put it into a playlist so you can come back to it again and again when you feel you need it.
How to stay motivated during NoFap...
I think you all know what I’m talking about here.
Maybe it’s your second week now and suddenly you start feeling like, "Oh man, why bother with this?"
You were supposed to do daily runs and take daily cold showers, but now somehow the motivation you were riding on in the beginning is gone.
Well, my friend...this is normal.
Your dopamine levels plummet in the beginning of a NoFap journey...
It is because during week two and week three after quitting something that has provided you with massive amounts of dopamine, you now rebound and your dopamine levels plummet.
This feels bad.
Oh man, you lack drive and you can feel so down that going on those runs seems almost like an impossible task.
The solution to this is to shift your focus AWAY from how you feel and TOWARDS who you want to be.
Shift to an identity based focus...
First, because if you focus on how you feel you will only magnify it, but also, focusing on your self identity is the secret to get to the next level with everything in life.
You gotta ask yourself, who do you want to be during difficult times?
Do you want to be a useless overgrown child who is whining away somewhere in a corner and says “Why me?”
Or do you want to be a warrior who looks at the adversity, smiles and says “Try me!”
I’m not saying all this just to make it sound all dramatic and all. You guys know me better than that and by now you know that I like to say things that are psychologically correct.
The self identity tip is no different because the strongest force in human psychology is the need to stay consistent with how we define ourselves.
View yourself as someone who can stand solidly in the face of adversity...
Well, this means that if you view yourself as a warrior who stands solidly in the face of adversity every action you need to take will become much easier to do.
Sure they will still take effort, but you will feel a pull to do them because your self identity is your core driver of your actions.
So again, stop focusing on how it feels right now and start focusing on who you want to be.
And so now some of you may say, "But it’s worse for me because “X “, and you name a reason and tell me that you are in an unfair position.

An identity shift is the solution - even if it's unfair...
Sure you are, I don’t doubt that, but if you act out the misery you’ll make everything you are complaining about so much worse.
And my advice for you is no different.
Start viewing yourself as a warrior who keeps building stronger shoulders day by day, on which you then can carry your unfairly burdensome load.
What if you become so strong that you could even carry them uphill in a blistering storm in freezing cold weather?
Try to find glory in the suffering...
In order to become a warrior you have to try to find glory in the suffering.
And so you say, "Is that even possible?"
Oh yes it is!
You see, there will be some tough storms on your NoFap journey, no doubt, and you will have to fight through them and sure may even get a few scares, but you know what..
A warrior is defined by his scars, not his medals. Those scars are a reminder of when fate tried to break you...but failed.
Your actions are a vote for the person you wish to become...
Well that right there is glory if there ever was any, so start asking yourself, "Who do I want to be?"
.And then start acting in line with that, because your self identity works like a jury in a courtroom who is presented with evidence for a trial.
Every action you take in life is a vote for the way you view yourself. As the votes build up, so too does the evidence for your new identity.
No matter how small - All your actions count...
And here’s a tip, if it’s raining today and you have zero motivation and you decide to just go for a 2 minute run...
...well guess what...
Even if those 2 minutes didn’t do a whole lot good for your body, it was still one more vote for being a person who acts in the face of adversity.
It was still a vote for being that warrior.
This is the secret to changing your identity.
And don’t worry so much if you miss one opportunity here and there, because just like a civil case you don't need 100% of the votes for a verdict. You only need the majority of the votes in favor of your desired identity.
You'll become stronger than ever...
And once your new, warrior identity is there, oh man, you will be stronger than ever.
If you then are faced with challenges with that warrior identity cemented, well you might just start noticing that those are actually the times you feel the most alive.
And then, my friends, another thing I would like you to think about is, at the end of your life let’s say it’s the last week of your life, and you know that you only have a few days left....
When your last day on earth is here...
You’re old and you are sitting there in your room thinking back on your life.
How many of you are going to think: “Man, I wish I would have spent more time on adult sites, exploring weirder and sicker categories?”
Let those words sink in a bit, because it’s pretty sad really how many of us choose to live our lives today.
